In the third week of May, the picturesque city of Montreux became the gathering point for
our club members, a diverse group from various parts of Europe.
DAY ONE:
Our day in Montreux was filled with exploration. We enjoyed a private guided tour, discovering the city's rich history and vibrant modern life. Along the picturesque promenade, we admired stunning views of Lake Geneva and passed landmarks like the Freddie Mercury statue. In the charming old town, we browsed quaint shops before indulging in a traditional Swiss meal of cheese and meat fondue, immersing ourselves in the local culture and hospitality.
DAY TWO:
We began Saturday with a hearty breakfast before immersing ourselves in the Open Cellars Festival-the trip's highlight. Starting in Saint-Saphorin, we embarked on a memorable wine tasting journey through Lavaux's terraced vineyards. Trekking from town to town, we savored wine tastings and indulged in raclette along the scenic route.
This hike through the UNESCO World Heritage site provided breathtaking views and wines, creating a memorable day.
DAY THREE:
Sunday extended our tasting adventure with visits to the Callier Swiss chocolate factory and the medieval village of Gruyères. After indulging in chocolates and cheeses, we geared up for another hike in the Les Pléiades area, famous for its blooming daffodil fields in May, enjoying stunning views. But beyond the scenery and treats, the real highlight was the connections forged. Our diverse group bonded over shared stories and laughter, returning home enriched by new experiences and friendships.
